HOW IT WORKS
The media contained in the water filtering element gets rid of contaminants by the surface phenomenon known as “adsorption” which results from the molecular attraction of molecules to the surface of the media. As you squeeze the Sport bottle, the water is forced through the filter. The density and quality of media used determine the rate of adsorption, and the time of exposure through the filter has been carefully calculated to yield the greatest volume removal of toxic chemicals and pollutants.
FLUSHING THE FILTER
When you receive your Sport bottle, you’ll want to flush out all of the manufacturing dust from the Sport bottle’s filter. So, here’s how to accomplish this task. Fill your Sport bottle with water, and securely tighten the cap to eliminate any leaks. Pull down the loop on the lid to extend the straw, and squeeze your Sport bottle. Squeezing your Sport bottle is what will force water through the filter and the straw. Empty the water from your Sport bottle, and then repeat this exact same process two more times. After these three flushes, use water and thoroughly rinse your Sport bottle and cap. Now, you’re all set to use your Sport water bottle.

Periodically, soak your Sport bottle’s top and straw in cool water mixed with some eco-friendly and non-toxic soap.

Your Sport bottle’s filter has a storage shelf life of fifty years. When not using your Sport bottle for an extended period of time, it’s really important to remove the Sport bottle’s filter. With the filter removed, flush your Sport bottle using a 50/50 solution of water and 3% hydrogen peroxide. Once your Sport bottle has been flushed, thoroughly rinse it with water. Allow all parts to completely air dry before re-assembling your Sport bottle. If possible, seal your Sport bottle in an airtight container. Do NOT allow your Sport bottle’s filter to freeze. Freezing your Sport bottle’s filter will damage it, and then you will need to replace it. Your Sport bottle’s filter is NOT microwave safe, and it’s
NOT designed to filter water that’s any hotter than 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
