Is chicken good for us to eat?
NOT TO RUFFLE ANY FEATHERS, BUT
If you’re inviting me to join you for a meal, and you’re serving up chicken… I’ll politely decline every single time. It’s absolutely true that chicken whether it’s stewed, fried, baked, grilled or broiled, skinless or boneless, in parts or whole is a big presence in the American DIE-t.
THE MEAT OF THE MATTER
While sitting at your dining table, you might hear me ask… “Instead of the chicken… Where’s the beef, veal, lamb, wild salmon, et cetera…?“ But at the mention of eating chicken… My hackles will rise. I’ll squawk, cluck and then I’ll fly the coop. The big question is what in the world would have me so squeamish?
LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE UNAWARES
Statistics as of 2014 show that we consume 8 BILLION chickens per year in the United States, or this is nearly 22 MILLION per day. But since so many of us only see them nicely packaged up at the grocery store, we don’t realize these artificially created creatures will eat just about anything. I’m going to prove it to you, and when I finish… you will cock-a-doodle-doo in knowing more about what’s hurting and what’s helping your health. Without sounding like a mother hen, there’s a great reward awaiting you if you don’t chicken out. John 8:32… “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Far be it from me to keep you waiting in the wings. Thus, here are the hard-hitting facts that may very well leave you in that raucous clucking cry of a chicken’s cackle.
Find comfort in the scripture verse of Hebrews 12:11… “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” For further encouragement, here’s verses 6 and 7… “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?”
CHICKENS ARE NATURAL OMNIVORES
People have no problem with the fact that pastured poultry eat lots of green grass, herbs and clover. However, they cringe at the notion that these beautiful, healthy birds also supplement their diet with PLENTY OF ANIMAL FOODS as well. In the green season, the birds eat lots of grasshoppers and fly larvae (out of the cow pies). But what happens when the chickens go indoors for the winter, and insect life is all but nonexistent except for the occasional pill bug and spider in the deep bedding material? Traditionally this is when farm flocks were SUPPLEMENTED WITH VERMIN, and they were cut open for easier access to the internal organs. Chickens GLADLY AND VORACIOUSLY TEAR AT THE FLESH AND GUTS of a freshly shot groundhog, opossum or raccoon. Ever wonder why chickens have a featherless face? This is definitely for a reason. It’s easier to keep clean after INDULGING IN FLESH. We see the SAME PHYSIOLOGY IN WILD AVIAN SCAVENGERS like vultures. Vermin means wild mammals and birds that are believed to be harmful to crops, farm animals, or game, or that carry disease, e.g., foxes, rodents, and insect pests.
TRUTH BE TOLD
Large-scale organic and free-range egg producers love to advertise the “vegetarian-fed” status of their birds. Certainly, a vegetarian-fed chicken does not have access to insects, or it would lose the privilege of this label. We can also assume that no access to insects means no access to pasture, little to no access to the outdoors, or, worst of all… continuous confinement. Unfortunately, the vegetarian feeding regimen of organic and free-range poultry INDUCES A PALER, WEAKER EGG YOLK than their omnivorous, beyond-organic counterparts. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING NATURAL ABOUT A VEGETARIAN-FED CHICKEN. To be sure, the nutrient profile of eggs and meat from birds fed this way IS GOING TO BE FAR INFERIOR to birds with access to insects and meat scraps. Traditional farm flocks were often KEPT SOLELY TO CONSUME THE FAMILY’S KITCHEN WASTE… much of which was meat and scraps of fat.
A FARMER RECEIVES A REALITY CHECK
Here’s what he has to say.
“I bought two hundred Rhode Island Red pullets for my farm in Potomac, Maryland. I began feeding them a local, custom blended mix of corn, soybeans, oats, Fertrell’s Nutri-Balancer for poultry, and some fishmeal for extra protein. Within two weeks, the chicks were beginning to EAT EACH OTHER. The more aggressive chicks were tearing at the weaker ones from the outside in, and fifty percent of the batch had bleeding tails from being picked at. I tried crushing the feed to a finer consistency, thinking that the pieces were too large for the chicks to ingest and digest well, BUT THEY CONTINUED TO CANNIBALIZE.”
SIX VIDEOS THAT ARE A MUST WATCH!
1} Hosea 4:6… “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” If you’re eating chicken (heritage-bred, organic chicken doesn’t make a difference), then please click HERE and don’t be too chicken to check out what they consume. Brother Wayne made a really profound statement to me, and here’s what he said… “What is poison, eats poison.” You’re about to see exactly what he means!
2} Deuteronomy 30:19… “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that both thou and thy seed may live.” Click HERE and watch until after the song plays, and this is the song entitled… Old MacDonald had a farm. What you’re about to view is anything but cute.
3} Galatians 6:7-8… “Be NOT deceived; God is NOT mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” What each one of us eats does one of two things… what each one of us eats either builds up our body or breaks down our body. Click HERE and check out what these chickens are eating, and then really think about what you’re eating. By eating chicken… Are you building up your body, or are you breaking it down?
4} Isaiah 55:2… “…hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good…“ Why aren’t chickens finicky or selective eaters like true ruminants, for example? For those people who read the scripturally-based eBooks, THE PURE TRUTH… WHAT TO Eat and Eating According To Scripture… Foods Of The Bible, they have the clear understanding as to why chickens feed on all sorts of repulsive and ghastly things (including various critters like this one). Click HERE and view what the chickens are dining on. And, is it any wonder why people in this world are seriously sick and dying?
5} 1Peter 1:16… Because it is written, “You shall be holy (set apart), for I am holy.” Chickens partake of death, and for each one of us who consumes chicken… we are partaking of the same… DEATH. If we eat chicken, shouldn’t we be aware of everything they eat? Click HERE and prepare yourself for the fowl play that you’re about to view.
6} 1Corinthians 6:19-20… “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” People in the know will refer to chickens as miniature trash compactors, and any honest farmer will tell you… chickens will eat almost anything. If you know anyone who has offensive body odor and/or who is suffering in their body, I can almost guarantee that they’re eating chicken. Why not click HERE and judge for yourself if chicken is something that’s good to consume.

STRAIGHT FROM A FARMER’S MOUTH
“No, chickens are NOT vegetarians. IN ITS NATURAL ENVIRONMENT… A chicken enjoys a diet RICH IN NOT ONLY PLANTS, but also insects, reptiles AND ANYTHING ELSE IT CAN CATCH. For several years now… I’ve been fortunate enough to share my land with a small flock of chickens, so I’ve missed what appears to be a growing trend in supermarkets… eggs from hens fed a vegetarian diet. I’m going to get right to the point for those that would prefer not to peck around the issue. Chickens are not vegetarians. It’s NOT A NATURAL DIET at all for them, and it’s also potentially harmful to their well-being. If you’ve never owned or spent any time with these intelligent and curious animals, I completely understand why this is shocking news. The thing is, CHICKENS ARE EXPERT SCAVENGERS. They pick and scratch at the ground for not only plants and seeds, but also worms, grubs, flies AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT MOVES. I’ve seen my chickens kill snakes, swallow frogs whole, and they will even fight over scraps after the cleaning of a deer! In the latter example, both my dogs and barn cats kept a safe distance from the FEATHERY MEAT-EATERS going mad around my ankles. You really don’t want to get between a chicken and its meal.”
Why then are egg producers all of a sudden replacing the chicken’s omnivorous diet with one that’s focused completely on grains, corn and soy? As Jill Winger over at The Prairie Homestead explains… A lot of it is due to FEEL-GOOD MARKETING, new laws, and it’s because of a growing disdain from the American public over anything that includes animal by-products.
THAT’S PRETTY GROSS!
“The ‘animal by-products’ that pop up in ingredient lists in various animal feeds can include blood, same-species meat, feathers, rendered road kill, and euthanized dogs and cats,” she writes. For anyone curious about animal feed ingredients… It’s stomach-turning, but the by-product issue has also raised bigger questions about species ingesting their own species.
“So laws started to change and producers and consumers alike started watching more closely what animals were eating,” Jill adds. “And if most people had to choose, eggs from chickens fed a vegetarian diet SOUND MUCH BETTER THAN eggs from chickens fed slaughterhouse waste (or worse).”
THE RESULT OF A CHANGE
The serious challenge with this transition to all-vegetarian feed is that IT RESULTS IN THE REDUCTION of an essential protein-based amino acid known as methionine. True free-range chickens receive plenty of this amino acid in their diets from bugs, plants AND OTHER CRITTERS. Those chickens involved in the mass production of eggs (read… factory farms) receive it as a synthetic supplement. This doesn’t sound all that natural, does it? Even worse for the chickens, federal organic policies restrict how much artificial methionine they can receive. AS A RESULT… The birds fall ill and they may even become irritable to the point of violence, and their appetites will also become twisted toward pecking each other in search of negated nutrients.
